When your 'solution' is the 'problem'

You want to change your body. What if you changed your mind about your body? - Kristie Amadio

Do you ever doubt your doubts?

Doubting ourselves is pretty common, but do you ever doubt your doubts? Consider for a moment, that your doubts were wrong. If this were the case, what would you do differently in life?

Rob Wilson PhD is a leading figure in the field of Body Dysmorphic Disorder in the UK. He has a theory around body image thoughts, that people focus (understandably) on the thing they believe - that their body is the problem.

He poses a second theory, that their mind is the problem.

When we allow our minds to compare ourselves with others, we lose perspective on our individual beauty. Comparison is the thief of joy. A flower does not compare itself to the flower next to it. It just blooms.

Are you brave enough to consider that what you are doing as a ‘solution’ is actually causing the ‘problem’?

Just for today, act as if your thoughts were the problem, not your body.
