Rāwā Karetai-Wood-Bodley (they/them/he) is a disability health leader, governance practitioner, and Tangata Whaikaha advocate of Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha, and Ngāti Maniapoto descent. As Chair of Recovered Living NZ, Rāwā brings together over two decades of national and international governance experience and is deeply personal commitment to peer-led, lived-experience approaches to recovery and mental wellbeing. Rāwā is National Manager of Disabled People’s Health at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, a Member of the Institute of Directors, and co-director of KWB&Co. They co-created the TVNZ documentary Trans & Pregnant, celebrating their whānau’s journey as Takatāpui, disabled, and Māori. Rāwā’s leadership is rooted in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the UNCRPD, and one core belief: turn rights into routines.
