Duration & Fees for the Recovered Living NZ Programme

Programme Duration

We pride ourselves on meeting you where you are at so there is no set length of stay in the Recovered Living NZ Programme.  In order for you to get some traction in recovery the minimum length of stay in our Residential Programme is 4 weeks.

In saying that, an average time in Residential is around 2 - 4 months in order to create sustainable change.  Generally speaking, the amount of time you spend in our Residential Programme is roughly the amount of time people spend in our Day and Partial Programmes combined.  So, if you spend 2 months in Residential, we would loosely plan for you to spend a further 2 months completing our Day and Partial Programmes.

Our Day & Partial Programmes are not compulsory; however they are recommended, to give you the best foundation in your transition towards a recovered life.  In a ten year longitudinal study of the American based programme RLNZ is modelled from, the best indicator of sustained long term recovery was participation in the full continuum of treatment.

Hardship Subsidy Funding

We may at times have partial treatment hardship subsidies available, thanks to the generosity of donors who support our organisation.

These subsidies, when available, are for people facing hardship or barriers to treatment who can show they are not able to meet full residential programme costs.

The support that may be available reduces the cost of treatment for those who are eligible.  Depending on availability of funds, these subsidies can vary in their level of support.  There are still elements of client pay as we are not yet able to offer fully subsidised funding.  Please note subsidy funding is not guaranteed and each person’s case will be individually assessed.  Any funding offered is based on the wishes of donors who support our cause.  We encourage you to book a phone assessment so we can speak with you about your personal situation and provide you with an application form.

ACC Sensitive Claims

We are pleased to share that Recovered Living NZ has obtained an ACC contract to provide full cover for residential eating disorder services under ACC Sensitive Claims.  The eating disorder must be covered as a mental injury under the sensitive claim.

Please be aware ACC have advised they cannot guarantee that an enquiry will result in a direct referral for funding, however they have outlined the steps required in order to request funding.

The first step is to contact your ACC Recovery Team Member.  If you are unsure who your recovery team member is, you can call ACC on 0800 735 566.  From there you can request cover for residential treatment for your eating disorder with Recovered Living NZ under ACC Sensitive Claims.  ACC will then determine whether Recovered Living NZ services are necessary and appropriate for you at this time.

If successful, you can then commence the assessment process with Recovered Living NZ.

Once you have commenced the process with ACC, please let us know so that we can manage your position on our waitlist.
