AMBASSADOR

Robyn Malcolm

Actress. Storyteller. Advocate.
Voice for recovery.

“Recovery should not be the exception,
it should be the expectation.”

— Robyn

Robyn is proud to stand with Recovered Living NZ
and use her voice to help create a future
where recovery is possible for everyone.

Robyn is one of New Zealand’s
most respected and recognisable actors,
beloved for her iconic roles on stage and screen —
most recently the powerful film Pike River,
BAFTA-nominated After the Party,
and of course Outrageous Fortune
and Shortland Street.

She is a fierce storyteller, advocate,
and cultural voice who has spent decades
shaping narratives that matter deeply
to people’s lives.

Early in her life, Robyn struggled
with an eating disorder.

At a time when these illnesses
were rarely spoken about openly,
she navigated the experience quietly
and largely alone.

That lived experience has remained with her
and continues to inform the way she speaks
about mental health, recovery,
and the importance of honest conversation.
